Do I Need a Pre-Flight Covid Test?

Covid-19 continues to pop-up around the world. When it does, local authorities may require that people exiting or entering the country require Covid-19 testing, backed-up with a Covid Test Medical Certificate signed by a medical professional.

At Persona Health, we provide this very service. We use a TGA-Approved Rapid Antigen Test kit, and one of our AHPRA-Registered medical professionals can administer the test, and issue and sign a certificate for you.

Remember, most countries no longer require Covid testing, or require testing for unvaccinated passengers. Whatever the requirement, Persona Health has you covered!

Pre-Flight Covid Testing In-Clinic - Our Process

Our tests are carried out by AHPRA-registered doctors and nurses, using RAT kits approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Following the test, you will be provided with a certificate (upon a negative test result) that complies with the requirements set down by the Australian Department of Home Affairs and Border Control, and the Department of Health.

In summary, the process is as follows:-

Arrive at the clinic at least 5 minutes before your appointment to complete a short form to collect your details.

1. How long does the Covid test take, and when do I get my certificate?

The test takes no more than 15 minutes from start to finish. If you come the clinic for your test, the certificate is printed for you. If you book a telehealth or call-out test, the test takes 15 minutes and the certificate is emailed to you in PDF format.

2. Can I book a Covid test from overseas to come back into Australia?

Australia no longer requires a pre-flight Covid test to enter the country.

3. What happens if I test positive for Covid-19?

If you test positive for Covid-19, we cannot issue a certificate for you to fly. Also, you must report your result to the NSW Government. In short, you cannot fly until you produce a negative test.

However, if you have recently had Covid and have a doctor's letter or other document confirming as such, then we may be able to issue you with a 'safe-to-fly' letter signed by one of our doctors. Call us on 02 9804 0480 for more information.

4. I need to cancel my test appointment and get a refund. How do I do that?

You can reschedule your appointment in the event of changes to your flight details. You can cancel your appointment at anytime, however, a $20 cancellation is fee is payable. If you cancel on the same day as your appointment, or do not show for your appointment, no refund will be provided.
